Hark! Here be spoilers for FFXVI!

⏵ character information
name: Sleipnir Harbard
canon: Final Fantasy XVI

age: presenting age: 18~ // living age: 52/70 (born in 826 at the age of 18)
canon point: Clive Rosfield is making his way up the Reverie tower.
history:
826- Born in the tragedy of Barnabas losing his mother. Helps see Barnabas become the leader of his tribe.

842- Helps Barnabas succeed in conquering the Kingdom of Veldermark.

843- Helps Barnabas conquer the entirety of the Continent of Ash and founding the Kingdom of Waloed. Sleipnir is appointed Lord Commander of the Royal Knights of Waloed.

847- Cid is invited by Barnabas to join the Kingdom of Waloed- since he awaked as Ramuh. Aka Sleipnir gains a co-worker.

849- Helps intervene and secure the Kanver Independence Movement.

850- Cid is promoted to Lord Commander of the Royal Knights in Sleipnir's stead. Sleip takes on the roll of Royal Advisor to Barnabas.

Ultima appears before Barnabas in the form of his mother. Barnabas offers up his body and soul to Ultima, his God. Barnabas becomes akashic here at age 42. Sleipnir has Doubts about Ultima, but trusts Barnabas more. They then proceed to sew chaos throughout the Twins at the behest of Ultima in order to complete Clive as Mythos, Ultima's vessel, and fulfill the long-cherished dream of the Children of Dzemekys- Barnabas's people.

860- Cid brings Benedikta to serve the Waloed army. (New co-worker gained!)

862- Cid saves and keeps a baby.(Mid) (New co-worker gained!) (j/k)

863- Benedikta assigned to intelligencers squad. (co-worker upgrade!)

865- Continental warfare breaks out on Storm and they intervene proactively in conflicts all across the Twins. Benedikta appointed to commander of elite intelligencers. (co-worker upgrade!)

867- Cid defects from Waloed, greatly upsetting Sleipnir who then thrashes and trashes the man's old work room. Sleipnir finds the plans for Cid's ship which he hands over to Barnabas. (ex-co-worker and enemy gained!)

873- Helps force each Dominant into contact with Clive so he will absorb their powers. Waloed has Benedikta's dead body desecrated to send her head to Hugo Kupka in a box saying it was from Cid. While Clive, Cid, and Jill are going to shatter Drake's Head's Mothercrystal Sleipnir and Barnabas prime and take the field as Odin and his precious steed to directly engage in battle with Bahamut at the Battle of Belanus Tor.

878- Sleipnir interferes with Clive and Kupka's fight to the death saving Kupka before he is beheaded, but after his Eikonic powers have been absorbed by Clive. Sleipnir and his men spirit Kupka back to his castle at the heart of the Mothercrystal in the Republic of Dhalmekia. There he chides Kupka and further manipulates him into taking the heart of the Mothercrystal's power to "get revenge upon Clive". Sleipnir's true aim is to continue helping Barnabas, and thusly Ultima, in their wish to continue testing the vessel, Mythos.

Clive kills Kupka while Sleipnir watches on from the side, disappointed that Kupka would eat of the Mothercrystal directly, and get himself killed.

Later he, Barnabas, a league of akashic soldiers, and orc soldiers ransack the free city of Kanver. He then engages in battle with Clive whom he keeps goading into giving him effort, more attacks, more damage, just more of everything. He "dies" at the hands of Clive. (Sleipnir is immortal, see abilities)

Later still, Sleipnir and a small battalion of himself (see abilities) attack Clive and company on a hidden dockyard in Kanver as they try to flee via boat giving chase to Barnabas. Sleipnir's aim here is to chase them out and after Barnabas faster. It works and all of his copies "die".

Even later Barnabas and Sleipnir herd Clive to the tower of Reverie. It is there that they will have their final showdown to test Clive, Mythos, vessel of God, the future body of Ultima. Clive is storming the tower alone with his familiar Torgal when Sleipnir is plucked out of reality and plopped into Etraya.

abilities:
Skillset:
Extremely agile, can jump very high, talented in the way of the sword(equal to Barnabas), skilled with a spear, was made Lord Commander of his King's army- he is intelligent in warfare and tactics((no one matches his practical tactical brilliancy//Hamilton)), and is, in general, ferocious in battle.

Eikonic//Egi:
Priming: Sleipnir can "Prime" and turn into Odin's(Barnabas) 6-legged horse. The size of the horse can vary from regular horse size to absolutely gigantic. It is unclear if Sleipnir can Prime without Barnabas as we do not see him do so, nor do we hear of anything saying he can't. I will leave that up to mods discretion.

Undying: As Barnabas' Egi Sleipnir cannot be killed ((in a way that matters)) by regular means. His body will "die" and turn to aether, but he will just resummon/revive in his full form. His body also does not physically age, thusly he will not die of natural causes either.

Life-Link: As Barnabas' Egi Sleipnir's lifeforce is tied to Barnabas. If Barnabas dies, so too does Sleipnir's existence come to an end. (I have been told this is likely how it will work in Etraya as well, Sleipnir can die as much as happens, but only fully die and resurrect incomplete ala Etrayan style if Barnabas dies- regardless if Sleipnir himself was struck dead at the time and no matter the distance.)

Magick:
Sleipnir can teleport, levitate, create clones(his power seems to divide up between the number of bodies/doubles he creates, thusly the more he makes at once the weaker they all are), pull a spear out of a dark void that he creates the opening of with his hands(think hammer space), has super strength, and can generally summon/create and manipulate dark-energy. He uses this dark-energy in a number of ways such as imbuing his weapon with it, sending out shockwaves of it, creating slow moving massive orbs that hone in on an enemy, create spectral swords with it that rain down into dark energy explosions and shockwaves, creating patches on the ground that suddenly explode with it((aka hazardzone))((aka nono-circle)).

personality: He's a funny little guy!
I play Sleipnir as if his core drive and personality were formed by Barnabas' will at his time of creation. Barnabas was in an extremely vulnerable and violent situation and needed a protector. We see a lot of his own wants reflected in Sleipnir as a person. He is strong, combat capable, and protective- the person Barnabas needed when his mother was killed. He is someone who indulges and expresses himself, whereas Barnabas was raised in a very restricted manner. We see Sleipnir being sarcastic and biting, where Barnabas is quiet and thoughtful.

The main goal in Sleipnir's life is to protect Barnabas. In any way/shape/form/matter possible. If Barnabas cannot indulge in something then Sleipnir will indulge in it for him, allowing Barnabas to live vicariously through him. If Barnabas will not seek out comfort Sleipnir will be there to give it to him. Barnabas will always come first and himself last. Luckily, Sleipnir's wants line up with Barnabas' wants 98% of the time.

I take some inspiration from how some DID alters appear. Through a tragic moment someone stronger is there to protect them. I feel this can also be reflected in Benedikta's Egis whom show up when she has a mental breakdown and Cid calls them fractured pieces of her mind.

Sleipnir is also maintains that he is a man like any other and is internally upset when someone finds out he is an egi. I also imagine the longer Sleipnir has been alive the more fully formed he becomes- as in fully developed and realized- which can be said about most lifeforms.

Barnabas' wants and needs do still influence Sleipnir like an empathetic bond. Sleipnir also has similar tastes to him. We see them both enjoying combat, fighting prowess, competition, and Mythos. He's motivated to protect Barnabas and that includes seeing him get those wants and needs.

Sleipnir is utterly devoted to Barnabas, so while I have him disliking God, he still believes in Barnabas. He believes in Barnabas' faith and God will lead their people to salvation. Sleipnir does care deeply for his people, as Barnabas does. He's been fighting alongside Barnabas all these years for peace and he wants them to reach salvation just as much as his King does. He simply does not like how God is treating Barnabas.

Mythos is someone he is also enamored with. He is to be the God's vessel, one they are trying to shape into becoming strong and ready to seat God within. However, Mythos acts more how Sleipnir would hope God would be: beautiful fighter, caring heart, strong will.
